Jacob first walked into a CrossFit gym in October 2013 during his sophomore year of college, looking for a better way to prepare for joining the Marine Corps. It didn’t take long for him to get hooked.
By the summer of 2014, he earned his CrossFit Level 1 and started coaching, driven by a genuine love for the sport and helping others improve their health. From 2014 to 2016, Jacob trained hard while preparing for Officer Candidate School in 2017 and competing in CrossFit. During that time, he continued to grow as a coach, attending CrossFit Gymnastics and Powerlifting seminars and earning his Level 2 in 2016.
After joining the Marine Corps and completing his initial training, Jacob stayed involved in CrossFit, continuing to compete and coach along the way. In 2019, he made it to the regional level, a big milestone in his competitive career.
In the fall of 2021, Jacob shifted his focus to Olympic weightlifting and has been competing nationally ever since. He earned his USAW Level 1 in the summer of 2022 and began coaching weightlifting as well.
Even with his recent focus on weightlifting, Jacob still has a deep appreciation for CrossFit. He believes in the methodology and values what it builds, both inside and outside the gym. More than anything, he enjoys being part of the community and helping others grow.
